BY BUS or COACH The number 2 A bus service passes by the front door of Honeycombe and departs from Blackpool town centre and bus station area. (The Talbot Road Bus Station is now seldom used and most buses area boarded at the bus stops in the surrounding streets)
If you are actually coming into Blackpool by Coach this usually teminates at Lonsdale coach station which is about 20-30 minutes walk away. Ok if you are without luggage, but not recommended to take luggage with you. There is no direct link from the Coach Station to town centre if you wish to travel all the way by bus, but you could walk into the near-by streets and catch a bus to town centre and then transfer to the number 2A service that passes the door of Honeycombe. Alternatively walk to the promenade and board a tram which reduces your walking distance by 80%

BY TRAM Board any north bound tram (showing FLEETWOOD or BISPHAM or UNCLE TOMS CABIN etc) and get a ticket to the CLAREMONT HOTEL. Most of the conductors are OK (and quite a few a gay!) so ask them to give you a nod when approaching the Claremont Hotel stop. (It is about half a mile north of North Pier, which is the last of the three piers you will see - the sea should be on your left hand side otherwise you're going the wrong way) Alight at The Claremont and walk along the small street that is alongside the Claremont, the street is only about 100 yards long. The sea is to the back of you and in front is a mini-roundabout system which you need to cross at the first mini-roundabout turn right and at the second mini- roundabout turn left into Pleasant Street. Drive the full length of Pleasant Street (300 yards) to another mini-roundabout. The Empress "pub" is in front of you. Turn left at mini-roundabout turning into Egerton Road into a small local shopping area. Honeycombe is on your left hand side after about 50 metres. The entrance is on the corner of Richmond Road & Egerton Road. |

BY CAR WHILST IN BLACKPOOL If you know your way into Blackpool or generally around Blackpool then I suggest you get onto the promenade and travel with the sea on your left and side until you have passed all three piers and are travelling in a northerly direction towards Bispham/Cleveleys/Fleetwood. Stay on the promenade for 0.5 miles until you reach the Claremont Hotel where you need to turn right off the promenade. Turn left at the roundabout into a small local shopping area. On your left is a fish & chip shop, DIY shop, newsagents and chemists. Cross the road at the chemists and Honeycombe is the next block of properties. The entrance is on the corner of Richmond Road & Egerton Road. Parking is usually available on the forecourt or in the surrounding streets. |

BY CAR FROM OUTSIDE BLACKPOOL If you are unfamilar to Blackpool the easiest way to reach Honeycombe is to use the promenade as the main approach road. From outside Blackpool proceed from the M6 (or other routes) onto the M55 which leads directly into Blackpool. As the motorway comes to an end you will approch a roundabout with centre statues (or figures) painted silver with the Mercedes garage to your right. Take first left at the roundabout (be aware of the filter system in the middle of the road otherwise you will have to go fully around the roundabout). Proceed for about 1 mile directly along this road following airport signs. Pass the airport on your left, remaining on this same road, and after a further 300 metres you will see the Irish Sea ahead of you. Turn right at the last set traffic lights onto the promenade. With the sea on your left hand side drive for approximately 2 miles. You will pass the Pleasure Beach on your right hand side and the three piers (South, then Cental and finally North Pier) on your left. After passing North Pier drive for a further 800 metres past the Metropole Hotel on the left of you and then shortly afterwards on your right hand side you will sea a curved hotel and bar building, one storey high, owned by the Great Western group, on the other corner is another large hotel called The Claremont Hotel. Turn right off the promenade. This road is only about 50 metres long. The sea is to the back of you and in front is a mini-roundabout system at the first mini-roundabout turn right and at the second mini- roundabout turn left into Pleasant Street. Park on the forecourt or in the surrounding street areas. |
